Mont Blanc Marathon, the movie Trash, Surf & Gold, Mitas 4 Islands Mountain Bike race and Ice Climbing with Sina Goetz on HorizonSports this week

Salomon Golden Trail World Series 2019 –
Round 2, Mont Blanc Marathon 

Taking place in Chamonix, France, this second stop of the Salomon Golden Trail World Series takes in the alpine scenery of Mont Blanc on a gruelling 42km course. A marathon distance at it’s origins in 2003, it is a 2730m vertical trail which is rolling in the first part of the course until Vallorcine but very technical in the second half with the mythical passage of the Aiguillette des Posettes.

Trash, Surf and Gold
François is an architect with a promising career that awaits him. One day he has an epiphany and abandons everything in order to set out on an improbable quest: to discover the philosopher’s stone of surfboards! This avid surfer dreams of reusing our rubbish by transforming it into surf-worthy vessels, free and environmentally friendly. He meets a couple of guardian angels along the way who help him during his journey of discovery which takes him to California, Mexico, and finally the beaches of France… Will he at last find the secret to transmutation? Will he succeed in transforming ordinary cardboard boxes pulled out from the trash into gold?


Mitas 4 Islands 2019
The Mitas 4 Islands pitches pairs of riders against other teams over 5 days of mountain bike racing in some of Croatia’s most stunning islands. Recognized by Union Cyclise Internationale (UCI), The Mitas 4 Islands attracts over 470 riders from around the world to compete across the men, women and mixed pair divisions. They were battling for podium glory, prize money and also UCI ranking points. Overall, the race takes in around 270km of mountain biking and climbs up to 5,000m, with riders transported by ferry between the islands.
