UTWT 2019 Transgrancanaria, ÖTILLÖ Swimrun Hvar, Rêves d'Himalaya and Shoespiracy documentary on Horizonsports this week.

UTWT – Transgrancanaria
Second Episode of our series following the 2019 Edition of the Ultra Trail World Tour. This episode is entirely dedicated to the Transgrancanaria, the first meeting of the season featuring Europe’s finests. A spanish armada lead by last year’s champion Pau Capell is fighting against some serious contestants such as Hayden Hawks or some good Chinese runners on a very technical 125 km course crossing the Island from north to south with 7000 m of positive elevation to finish in less than 29 hours. The women’s podium is rather open behind the great favourite Magdalena Laczak.

Shoespiracy is shedding light on a ‘shoe-shaped’ public health scandal. This feet-first short documentary, made in collaboration with Fable Films, is set to challenge you to think differently about your shoes, the negative effects your footwear is having on your feet, the way you move and ultimately your health. Shoespiracy, was made with the some of the biggest brains connected to feet and barefoot science today, including professors, doctors, bio-mechanists, movement experts, opinion formers and cobblers. Special Thanks to Vivobarefoot.

Rêves d’Himalaya
Adventurer ex-pro cyclist Stéven Le Hyaric had a dream : crossing the Nepalese Himalaya between Kangchenjunga and Hilsa on the Great Himalaya Trail by bike. It took 51 days to cover 2000 km, 90 000 m of positive elevation, 20 passes above 5000 m and 2 passes above 6000 m.

ÖTILLÖ Swimrun Hvar
The 2019 ÖTILLÖ swimrun season kicked off with a very tough race. It ended up being a hard fought battle for the 3rd edition ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Series event on the island of Hvar, Croatia. The Mediterranean setting had all the ingredients to make for a spectacular yet very tough swimrun race. The original  40,4 kilometres long course had to be changed as the currents made it to a true test, alternating technical trail running with long, challenging stretches of open-water swimming.
